Education and Research

Lund is the most popular study location in Sweden. The University offers one of the broadest ranges of programmes and courses in Scandinavia, based on cross-disciplinary and cutting-edge research. Lund University has a distinct international profile, with 600 partner universities in over 70 countries.

The University has some 30 world-leading research environments. This, together with increased direct funding from the Swedish Government, allocated on the basis of competition and quality, makes Lund University Sweden’s strongest research university. This success can largely be attributed to the inter-disciplinary research that is carried out and the diversity that a full-scale university can offer. Thus, our research is characterised by both breadth and strength. Over 30 of our research fields are world-leading according to independent evaluations.

Lund University offers a wide range of capacity building programmes to strengthen companies, professional organisations, authorities and individuals. Lund University can also provide tailor-made courses, training programmes, seminars and conferences to suit the organisation's professional development needs. Education and professional training is available on campus, online or in the workplace (internationally or in Sweden).

Over the last 10 years, Lund University has been one of the largest suppliers of International Training Programmes (ITP), financed by Sida (the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency). These programmes are implemented as commissioned training programmes and have the overall goal of supporting agencies, organisations and businesses in developing countries in their efforts to reform and contribute to their development to combat poverty in the long term.
